Black-Eyed Suzan Mixed - Trvalky
Thunbergia alata is a great as a pot plant. Cover the bottom of the included hanging pot with a layer of potsherds and hydro-granules. Put potting compost in the pot and place the root ball of the Black-eyed Susan Mixed at the correct depth. Fill with compost and press firmly. Water generously immediately after planting and place the pot in a warm spot in full sun.
Climbing Thunbergia mixedThe long stems of Thunbergia alata need support and can be trained to climb up a bamboo stake or climbing frame. Place the climbing frame firmly in the pot. The Black-eyed Susan will also look colourful trained along a wall or trellis.
Thunbergia alata is a native of tropical Africa and loves heat. The more common name Black-eyed Susan indicates the striking black heart that resembles the pupil of an eye. The flowers are white, yellow or orange. This special fast-growing vine blooms all summer long and well into winter.
Thunbergia alata is a fast grower and requires a lot of water and food. Keep well watered during the summer and less often in the autumn. Deadhead regularly and this will encourage a second flowering. For an extra rich flowering we recommend using Bakkers plant fertilizer regularly when watering. Thunbergia alata is usually a perennial grown as an annual in our climate. It may be overwintered in a greenhouse.
